Sometimes there is a story behind a song. Sometimes the song is the story. I imagine a lone rider, somewhere out west; at dusk. As he stares into the sunset, the basic questions of life come to mind.
In the ancient story, The Odyssey, Odysseus is tempted by the Sirens. Their song is beautiful and deadly. His answer was to have his men tie him to the mast of his ship, as he knew that on his own, he would be unable to resist their call to his own destruction.
We all have a choice; succumb to the Sirens calling us to our doom, or stand and fight for what we know we must do. Today, it seems, our lone rider will stand and fight.
