One More Night is a dark and brooding love song that speaks to the emptiness of being separated from the one you love. As with any love song that spills out of me, the source is always based on my wife, Beth. It makes it easy for me to wax romantic if I use that as my base. I had recorded a studio version of this song and was not totally happy with my vocal on it and asked Susan to play around with it and what she brought to the song – this soulful longing and passion – was exactly what it needed. Add Jared’s flavorful, swirly guitar parts beneath Kevin’s Rhodes patch and you’ve got a recipe for a powerful ballad. Once Tom threw in some Taurus Bass Pedal emulations to thicken things up, and Steve worked in some strategic crescendos, the song took on a life of it’s own.
